The European Digital Innovation Hub promotes the adoption of the following technologies.

Technologies

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines designed to make decisions and act like people. AI therefore has the goal, or rather the ambition, to emulate the cognitive abilities of human beings, increasing their effectiveness. At an operational level, AI is a set of technologies that can be used to support the innovation of business processes and services and, in particular it can be used for the analysis of data – even in unstructured form – the emulation of reasoning, the interpretation of natural language, the reading of images and texts, the ability to make predictions and generate suggestions, intelligent data retrieval and much more.

To give an idea of the level that these systems have reached, we asked AI to define itself, and the answer, however informative, fully covers the sense of the revolution that is still underway.

AI refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines designed to think and act like humans. These machines are trained to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision making and language translation. The goal of AI research is to create systems that can perform tasks that normally require human intelligence and improve people’s lives.” – Source: Chat-GPT (openAI).

In this project, AI is part of the first line of services that are made available and will consist of verticalization of numerous sub-services:

ML-algorithms design, training, optimization (MLS)

The service allows companies to test models and algorithms for analyzing datasets, images, and video streams coming from heterogeneous sources, such as software applications, cameras, and IoT sensors, in urban and industrial areas.

Digital Twin Simulation (DTS)

The service allows you to benefit from the advantages of implementing digital models and training artificial intelligence algorithms for process simulation. The digital model, in fact, can be used to perform simulations and study performance problems to evaluate possible improvements that can then be reapplied to the original physical object.

Integration and Test services based on AI, smart sensors and AR (SmartIT).

Integration and test services based on AI, intelligent sensors, and AR. The service consists of implementing artificial intelligence algorithms applied to data from heterogeneous sources of application domains linked to smart services in urban and/or industrial contexts and then processing it from a centralized platform. Possible applications could be traffic monitoring, air pollution monitoring, and remote control systems, just to name a few.

HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING

High Performance Computing (HPC) is the use of highly advanced supercomputers and clusters to run complex, high-performance applications. HPC combines highly specialized hardware and software to provide parallel and distributed processing power to solve complex problems efficiently. It is used in many industries, including life sciences, finance, manufacturing, energy and health care, to support research and development and solve complex problems. In this project, HPC is part of the first line of services being made available and will consist in the verticalization of numerous sub-services:

▶ HPC as a service (HPCP)

The service allows you to use High-Performance Computing to develop custom applications that require large computing capabilities to produce data that can be used in various sectors such as energy production, transportation, agri-food, and aerospace

Cloud Multicloud migration (CMM)

The service allows the configuration of cloud environments and the migration of implemented data while preserving interoperability with existing physical infrastructures. It consists of analyzing and designing migration procedures and installing, configuring, and optimizing the infrastructure.

CYBER SECURITY

It is important that all companies adopt protection mechanisms for their data and infrastructure to guarantee the accessibility, integrity and confidentiality of data and systems at all times. To this end,, the cybersecurity services of the PRIDE project aim to support companies in the implementation of the main functions required by current standards, namely: 1) Identifying sensitive resources, i.e., analyze and understanding all systems, resources, data, structures, and processes of the information system and susceptible to attack; 2) Protecting the resources, i.e. setting up appropriate protection mechanisms for all the identified elements; 3) Detecting intrusions, i.e. implementing systems for detecting intrusions, infections and other illegal activities, basing on these specific interventions and recovery actions; 4) Responding to critical events according to appropriate strategies; and 5) Having strategies and tools for efficient and effective recovery of system operations and data in general. Within the PRIDE project, specific sub-services will cover:

Threat Modeling (TMS)

The service aims to protect assets both along the network perimeter and internally, with particular attention to endpoints. It includes evaluating existing IT architectures and technologies, followed by a risk analysis phase and the identification of the best solutions characterized by the best cost/benefit ratio.

Cyber Risk Analysis (CYRA)

The service allows you to identify weak points and vulnerabilities in an organization's web applications and network infrastructure. It includes identifying vulnerabilities, analyzing the Deep and Dark Web, and fixing and rechecking activities. The Cyber-security Risk Assessment aims to identify potential vulnerabilities that can put company data security at risk.

Security Compliance (SCS)

The service allows you to support public and private entities in achieving and maintaining effective compliance with regulations and reference control frameworks. It responds to national and international compliance needs, mandatory regulations, and ISO standards for public and manufacturing systems.

▶AIpredictive Monitoring (AISEC)

Using Artificial Intelligence technologies, the service aims to guarantee the availability and integrity
of networks, systems, and IT services through continuous checks and preventive interventions to
identify any negative trends. Predictive Analytics is an advanced tool for extracting value from Big
Data.
